The 1st Annual Sculpture Challenge is open to all Richmond residents ages 10 - 15 years old (with parental consent). There is no cost to enter this challenge.
DO NOT SEND IN YOUR ENTRY UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE SCULPTURE AND INCLUDE A PHOTO AND DESCRIPTION.
Each applicant is asked to construct a modern, Eco-friendly, contemporary/modern sculpture using only re-cycled, re-used, or re-purposed materials. This must be done outside of the classroom and be no higher than 2 feet or wider than 1 1/2 feet, be movable, free standing and of sturdy construction.
There will be cash prizes for first, second and third place winners in both categories.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We will accept 40+ entries, only 1 per child, on a first come first accepted basis. There will be 2 categories, junior ages 10 - 12 and senior ages 13 - 15. The entry form must be received by February 27th, at the latest, in order to be accepted. The application must be completed in full, including the signature of the parent or guardian.
This exhibition will be held and displayed March 13 - 23 in the atrium at Richmond's City hall. Details on delivery and pick up of the sculptures will be on the application form and must be strictly adhered to.
Each sculpture will be judged on an overall basis on the following criteria: composition, materials used, esthetics and originality. There will be 6 awards in total, 3 in each of the two categories: 1st place $75.00, 2nd place $50.00 and 3rd place $25.00. The winners will be announced at the end of the exhibition.
